Working from home is becoming more the normal these days. Some people even negotiate into their contracts the options to work at home a few days a week.
You need to be productive when working from home and should set your space up professionally.
As you can see this custom made desk has four filing cabinets upright glass cupboards for folders and books and lots of storage to get your space looking great, productive and functional. Its 3400mm long and been built to fit into the recess of the rooms length. It was delivered in 6x parts and fitted together on site.
We can custom build timber desks, filing cabinets, cradenza units, bookcases and display cases and library units to suit your home office using timber such as Victorian Ash, Messmate, Redgum, Blackwood and Jarrah.

The District 8 is a designer inspired industrial looking range.
The metal bases are actually brand new but cast from moulds of old industrial factory equipment from 1940’s and 50’s. They are very heavy.
The recycled timbers used are rugged and will be great for young families with kids as the top is virtually indestructible.
The finish is stained with a wax and leaves the timbers smooth enough to touch and yet preserves the natural timber state.
There are some great looking little cafe tables in the range 8 and 10 seater dining tables as well as hall tables coffee tables and bookcases all with the same metal and timber industrial feel to them.
Its one of my personal favourites at present.
The Yarra Glen Furniture range was a nice range of furniture. It was made out of a walnut species and the finished product looked alot like an Oak or Ash timber.
It was stained in a single light walnut colour as pictured.
The range was slightly distressed and the edges were slighlty sanded off to give that time worn apperance and appeal.
The range was produced overseas.
The Mitchell River furniture collection was a nice range made of messmate or as some say stringy-bark timbers. The timber was exported out of Australia and the furniture was produced in China and shipped back to Australia.
The range came in two main colours light as pictured and a darker finish also.
Messmate is a great timber which makes for great looking furniture. Its unique timber grains and whirls and gum vein patterns create a distinct character.
My Australian made suppliers use messmate regularly and we can custom make items to link in with your existing Michell river furniture.
If you love timber character and grain then you will love Messmate and should consider it for you next furniture investment for your home.
We have been incoprorating LED lighting into some of our furniture recently. The terrific light output from such a physically small light allows us to design timber furniture with the ability to be creative with the use of LED lights.
The lights used in the stunning vodka cabinet are LED. The LED lights are in a very small strip which allows us to rebate the timber and mount the LED light flush with the timber. The flexible LED Light strip itself it approx 10mm wide and about 7mm deep.
In this made to order cabinet it sets a great mood of light highlighting the collection of unique Vodkas.
Its custom made to suit our client Cameron and he was very happy with the results.

I made this buffet for my Client Neil in Vermont about 5 years ago, but the glass top was made and supplied last week.
Neil recently came to me and asked if I could make a top to suit the buffet, I said yes of course no worries.
It got me thinking however that almost every chain store in the country would have to say “No”. No because they no longer import that model, or the size had changed, stain colours had changed, or they simply didn’t make hutch tops in the range at all to begin with.
It’s specialist work, matching timbers and stains and designing sizes to suit. It might surprise you that the top and bottom were actually made by different companies because things change over time as they always do.
As you can see with the attention to detail and our staining techniques the result is great and you would not know they were made at different times.
That’s what you get when you buy your furniture from a timber specialist, Local knowledge and skills which take time to craft and help you get terrific results in your home.
Best of all the work and the investment stays here in Australia supporting local business and employment.

This week three custom made vanity units we made for our clients.
These units are messmate timber and produced to specification ready for stone benchtops to be fitted once installed into the clients homes.
The timber has been finished with a special 2 Pack finish to give it higher resistance to water and moisture in the bathrooms.
We have been making solid timber vanity units for 20 years now.
